Building and Construction Output increased by 5.5% in 2nd quarter 2015

Building and Construction Output increased by 5.5% in 2nd quarter 2015

The volume of output in building and construction increased by 5.5% in the second quarter of 2015 when compared with the preceding period.

 

This reflects increases of 25.6%, 14.6% and 3.1% respectively in the volume of civil engineering, residential building and non-residential building work*. The change in the value of production for all building and construction was +3.9%.

 

On an annual basis, the volume of output in building and construction increased by 7.2% in the second quarter of 2015. There was an increase of 8.5% in the value of production in the same period. The annual rise in the volume of output reflects year-on-year increases of 44.5% and 7.6% respectively in residential building and non-residential building work. The volume of output in civil engineering fell by 14.0% in the year to Quarter 2 2015.
